Malcolm X

Malcolm X (born Malcolm Little) was born on May 19, 1925.   Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His father was Earl Little and his mother was Louise Norton Little. His father was a Baptist lay Speaker, and he supported Marcus Garvey The Leader of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA).   Malcolm's mother Louise, was born in Grenada, And Malcolm said she looked like a white woman. In 1931 Earl Little was run over by a streetcar in Lansing. Police say that the death was an accident, but the Littles knew that members of the black legion were responsible. Malcolm's mother Loouise had emotional breakdowns several years after Earls death, and was commited to a mental institution. Malcolm and his family were split up into various different foster homes.

He graduated from junior high at the top of his class. one day after school Malcolm was told that his dream of being a lawyer was " No realistic job for a nigger ". After that day he had no interest in school. He dropped out and spent some time in Boston.
